Ashley Cɾandell and her husband initially planned to give their 5-year-old daughter a sibling, but they were in for a surprise when they suddenly found themselves with five children! After 4 years of trying, Ashley became pregnant through I.U.I and was overjoyed to learn that she was expecting quadruplets. Despite the challenging pregnancy, she looks back on the experience with fondness.
Ashley Cɾandell, the mother of quadruplets, recalls the moment when she took her final bumρ ρhoto. She describes it as a bittersweet moment because she loved being pregnant and would miss feeling her babies move around inside her. However, at that point, her body was in pain, especially her back and feet, and she struggled to walk up the stairs in her house due to swelling. Ashley was 37 years old at the time.
Ashley Cɾandell shared before-and-after pregnancy photos on Instagram on September 16th. The first slide shows her at 31 weeks pregnant, about to leave for the hospital, while the second slide shows her at 31 weeks postpartum, holding all four of her children. Ashley expressed her amazement at how all four of her babies once fit inside her belly, writing, “It’s crazy to think they all ever fit in there.”
Wesley, Emma, Leah, and Nora were born prematurely via C-section on February 11th and spent 70 days in the neonatal intensive care unit until they were able to eat and breathe independently.
Despite being born prematurely, the four babies have thrived and grown. They have gained weight, can sit on their own, and crawl at an impressive speed, according to their parents. Their premature birth doesn’t seem to have any lasting effects on their development.
Isla, the 5-year-old big sister, has taken to her role well and enjoys spending time with her younger siblings. Her mother is impressed with how involved she is in feeding and changing their diapers. Despite the attention that the four babies require, their family dynamic feels natural and customized to fit their unique situation.
