Holland was born in London, England on June 1, 1996. Dominic Holland (a stand-up comedian and novelist) and Nikki Holland are his parents’ names (a professional photographer).
“It’s good to have a dad who’s been in the industry for probably over 30 years because he knows all the dos and don’ts and ins and outs and things,” Tom remarked in an Interview magazine interview with “Spider-Man” co-star Zendaya.
Holland had dancing lessons as a kid and praises Janet Jackson for picking his interest.
In 2017, he told CNET, “I don’t know whose song it was.” “However, one of her songs used to drive me into a dance frenzy when I was a baby.” “My mother believed I had a natural rhythm and advised me to take a dancing lesson.”
Holland went on to explain that he used to go to lessons “every Saturday”
Twelve-year-old Holland made his debut as the titular character in “Billy Elliot the Musical” in September 2008.
Holland’s interest in theatre was a logical evolution after taking dance courses at Nifty Feet in the United Kingdom.
Holland portrayed Michael, Billy’s friend, before taking on the lead part.
It took him around two and a half years to eventually go on stage as Billy at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London’s West End, according to the actor. Holland’s ballet and gymnastics expertise were also put to good use in the play.
After “Billy Elliott,” Holland starred in the 2012 movie “The Impossible.”
He played Lucas, a little kid whose family was caught in a tsunami while on vacation, opposite Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts.
Long before he was cast as Spider-Man, he was a huge admirer of the web-slinger.
In 2016, Holland told The Hollywood Reporter, “I suppose I had 30 Spider-Man outfits over the years since I was a small kid.” “My bed linens were Spider-Man. I went to a fancy dress party two years ago dressed as Spider-Man and looked like a complete idiot.”
Holland was named the next Spider-Man on June 23, 2015.
