Real Madrid want to sign Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The Brazilian star joined the Gunners from Manchester City for £45m last summer and has revitalised the club’s attack, scoring five goals and recording six assists in 16 Premier League games.
Though he has missed several parts of the season with niggling injuries, he is back fit now and Jesus’ stellar form for the leaders has seemingly alerted the Spanish giants to the prospect of signing him.
According to Defensa Central, Real president Florentino Perez has drawn up a four-man shortlist of targets for the summer transfer window.
Jesus is reportedly wanted to provide cover and competition for 35-year-old veteran Karim Benzema, with his ability to play on the wings an additional strength.

Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham is also believed to be on their list
The 25-year-old, who has 19 goals in 59 caps for Brazil, could also play alongside Benzema in a front two and has a similar profile to the Frenchman, making him ‘ideal’ for the European champions.
Also said to be on Real’s shortlist is Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, who is wanted as a box-to-box midfielder.
However, Los Blancos realise securing Bellingham’s signature may be difficult amid serious competition from heavyweights like Liverpool and Chelsea.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are also believed to want Celta Vigo wonderkid Gabri Veiga to use as a creative midfielder, with veterans Toni Kroos and Luka Modric coming to the end of their careers and Dani Ceballos potentially leaving.
That creative gap could be filled by Brahim Diaz, who the club are set to reintegrate into their first team after a three-year loan stint at AC Milan.
While Real have also activated the buy-back clause for Rayo Vallecano left-back Fran Garcia, 21, to strengthen their left-back depth.
