With the Challenger itself, it blew the competition out of the water throughout the year.
The closest car to the sales figures of the Challenger was the Ford Mustang. Ford was able to deliver 47,566 examples across 2022 which was a drop on the 52,414 on 2021. In contrast, Dodge’s sales figures were up from their own sales of 54,314 in 2021. The Camaro didn’t come close to either the Mustang or the Challenger, with just 24,652 examples sold as the Chevrolet muscle car continues to struggle. What really helps Dodge so much is the sheer depth in the range of Challengers that it sells, with multiple versions on offer for the consumer every year.

In 2022, there were nine models available for the Dodge Challenger. These range from the SXT to the GT and GT AWD, to the R/T, R/T Scat Pack and the SRT Hellcat. Some of these are further enhanced with the availability of widebody Challengers. Meaning Dodge had plenty of variety throughout its entire range. The variety of engines is also impressive with the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 on offer, with 717 hp, 797 hp and 807 hp. For those who want something a little tamer, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 chucks out 375 hp and there is a 485 hp 392 Hemi as well. The base models feature the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 303 hp.
