Meet The Largest Newborn, Who Couldn’t Even Do Up Her Newborn Clothes

BABY Brian Liddle is not as his name suggests.

In fact, he is one of the largest babies ever born in Australia.

A Victorian mum has just given birth to a 6.06kg or 13,4-pound baby, and not-so-little Brian Liddle Jnr has entered the world as the heaviest baby ever born at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg.

He was born at Mercy Hospital, in Melbourne, Australia on January 24, 2017, but even before his birth doctors knew he would be a bigger-than-average bundle of joy.

Mum-of-four Natashia Corrigan knew she was expecting a big bub by the time of her 36-week scan but wasn’t expecting that he might take out the title of Victoria’s biggest baby!

But just how big her baby would be after just an extra few weeks of growing 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑐𝑘𝑒𝑑 Natashia, who has been through childbirth three times before.

Fast-forward to the birth and Brian was born naturally – that is not a typo – after a seven hour labour, with just 𝑔𝑎𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑝𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑓. Weighing about the same as a five-month-old, the 6.06kg and 57cm long bub makes Natashia one powerful mama.

Baby Brian is the heaviest baby ever born at Mercy Hospital and measures an astonishing 22 inches long.

Natashia said told 7News Australia: “I dreamed of a little fat baby.

“I’ve always wanted a little fat baby and now I’ve got a big baby.”

She added: “They kept me strong and calm when it seemed like chaos was happening around me.

“This is the first pregnancy I’ve got to experience with a natural labour, the longest I’ve ever been pregnant and I’ve got the fat little man that I wanted.”

Partner Brian said the birth was “a bit scary” but that it all worked out for the best.

Even though Brian Jr. made it into Australia’s record books, he fell short of seeing his name in the Guinness Book of World Records. Currently, the record of “world’s heaviest baby” belongs to Anna Bates, who gave birth to a 22-pound baby in 1879. Bates was 8 feet tall herself, so it’s perhaps not so surprising that she would deliver a world-record baby. Sadly, the boy 𝑑𝑖𝑒𝑑 at their Seville, Ohio, home just 11 hours after his birth.

Congrats to the entire family! A baby is such a gift.
