A new sequel in the Bad Boys franchise was announced to be in pre-production by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, at the end of January, 2023.
Bad Boys 4 is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Will Smith is back as Detective Lieutenant Mike Lowery and Martin Lawrence reprises as Marcus Burnett.
During the third movie Bad Boys for Life; Captain Conrad Howard (Joe Pantoliano) of the Miami Police Department, was shot by Mike’s son Armando Aretas (Jacob Scipio), as he walked to his car. Captain Howard didn’t survive the attack and a funeral was held.
Project Casting website
On the Project Casting site, this casting call is looking for male photo doubles as stand-in actors: 6’9 – 6’11 African American. Filming is due to start between April 12 – 15, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia.
A project title for the casting call is also being called ‘CONRAD’ suggesting this next movie could be linking back to this beloved character, or to motivate part of the plot for the fourth.
It was also revealed in a credit scene at the end of Bad Boys 3; that Mike Lowery is looking to make a deal with Armando, in order to have some form of redemption arc for what he’s done.
However, it’s not yet confirmed on whether Jacob Scipio will actually reprise his role for the upcoming movie.
There is also another casting call from Project Casting, where they are looking for 4 – 5 year old boys, who are African American ‘Toddler Twins‘. Both casting calls could be for the kids of Mike or Marcus. Filming begins on June 13 and June 15, in Atlanta Georgia.
When will Bad Boys 4 be released?
This upcoming fourth instalment does not currently have a set date, or what the title will actually be. The movie could be releasing in 2024 or 2025, at the earliest.
