After defeating the Marquette Golden Eagles in the 2023 NCAA tournament’s second round on Sunday, Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans advanced to the Sweet 16 stage. Draymond Green, a forward for the Golden State Warriors and a former Spartans basketball player, is undoubtedly ecstatic at his alma mater’s victory.
“It’s crazy that, the dad asked to not be shown and they found him…. With that being said… pops knew his boy wasn’t ready for them SPARTAN DAWGS!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 buddy tucked his tail @DwyaneWade @juanonjuan10,” Draymond Green tweeted after Michigan State scored the 69-60 win against the Golden Eagles.
Draymond Green also made sure to mention a couple of former Marquette products, Juan Toscano Anderson and Dwyane Wade, just to rub it in even more.

Michigan State is quite on a run in this year’s edition of March Madness. The Spartans made it to the Big Dance as a No. 7 seed but have already passed two tough tests. Before taking down the Golden Eagles, Michigan State knocked out the USC Trojans in the first round via a 72-62 win. The Spartans are getting hot at just the perfect time, and they could keep it going with a win in the next round against the Kansas State Wildcats.
Draymond Green played for the Spartans from the 2008-09 season to the 2011-12 campaign, during which Michigan State played in the NCAA tournament each year. In Green’s first year with the Spartans, the team made it all the way to the NCAA tournament title game but lost there to the North Carolina Tar Heels.
