At Kwaggaspan Waterhole near Skukuza in the Kruger National Park, Field Guide Patrick Mziyako was giving his passengers a ride when he shot this video. Patrick said that he spotted a band of nine wild canines resting while he was on a morning wildlife drive from Jock Safari Lodge. Four of them stood up as he got ᴄʟᴏsᴇr to the pack and started to circle about.
After they noticed a small herd of impala 100 meters away on the western side of the road, one wild dog began stalking them. The remainder soon joined the pursuit. They chose one impala from the group and pushed it quickly toward the spacious waterhole. His coworker and he watched as two dogs rushing on the road took them directly to the ᴋɪʟʟ.
A male leopard emerged from nowhere, seized the mostly consumed impala, and bolted up into the nearby leadwood tree as the other dogs continued to dine on the impala. What a sighting, wow!
Patrick said that because it was not common to see such a drama in Kruger, he was quite excited. Although the wild dogs made an effort, it was too late to stop the leopard. After failing to get their food out of the tree, they quickly left the area.
Let’s take a look at the sight in the video below:
