He’s always had some interesting tastes in fashion, from his slatted sunglasses to his diamond teeth grills – but rapper Kanye West is really pushing the envelope with his latest sartorial statement.
The star is in Paris for the city’s Fashion Week, and was quite literally spotted wearing a rather feminine-looking leopard print bolero jacket.
The Gold Digger singer was in the big cat inspired style in the front row of the Martin Margiela ready to wear Fall/Winter collection and at the Lanvin catwalk show.

Fashion fan: The rapper teamed the garish jacket with a grey T-shirt, gold cameo medallion, jeans and black velvet loafers
On Thursday, he was channelling his inner Eighties rockstar with a red leather jacket at the Balmain and Manish Arora Fall/Winter runway shows.
In fact, he seems to be taking inspiration from Derek Zoolander, Ben Stiller’s ridiculous model and fashionista character in mickey-taking 2001 movie Zoolander – albeit minus the ‘Blue Steel’ poses.
According to today’s Sun newspaper, Kanye is so in love with fashion he’s applied to study for a Masters degree in fashion at London’s famous Central Saint Martins College in London and met with head of the court Professor Louise Wilson on Wednesday.
Blue steel: The pouting star had more than a little in common with Ben Stiller’s hilarious clueless fashionista Derek Zoolander in the 2001 comedy Zoolander
Bulletproof: The star was sitting next to Elly Jackson of La Roux at Dame Vivienne Westwood’s runway show at the Pavillon Concorde yesterday
Her previous students have included the late Alexander McQueen – one of Kanye’s favourite ever designers.
However, despite the rapper already having work experience with Fendi and Louis Vuitton, it appears that alone won’t be enough for him to secure a place on the course.
The paper reports that gossips at the school reckon he’s going to be turned down because his portfolio isnn’t up to standard.
Other celebrities checking out the fashion world’s most important event were Rosamund Pike, Jade Jagger, Kate Moss’s ex Jefferson Hack, La Roux singer Elly Jackson and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

Smart chaps: Boy George and Jefferson Hack were both seen at the Lanvin and Vivienne Westwood runway shows
Rosamund and Jade were looking stunning in the front row for Lanvin, with Rosamund in startling scarlet and Jade in deep purple.
Meanwhile, Dame Vivienne Westwood was in town for her catwalk show for her Autumn/Winer collection.
She sent models down the catwalk in the scary black and white make-up that recalled the warpaint worn by Natalie Portman for her Oscar-winning role in Black Swan, whereas on others, the markings looked more tribal.
Fashion queen: Dame Vivienne Westwood leads her models down a glitter-strewn runway at the end of her Paris Fashion Week show at the Pavillon Concorde
Fierce: Many of the warrior queen-inspired models were sporting Black Swan style black eye make-up
In the frontrow to see the warrior women-inspired collection for Westwood’s Gold Label Autumn/Winter 2011 collection were Boy George and Paloma Faith.
The models attacked the catwalk in chain-mail tunics, Westwood’s trademark bunched-up crinolines
Flame-haired eccentric Vivienne took to the runway to take her applause at the end of the show, wearing a stunning bluey-grey silk bodice and flowing charcoal grey raggedy-hemmed skirt from the collection.

However, John Galliano’s planned show for tomorrow will now not take place after the legendary designer was sacked by Dior for his anti-Semitic rant.
The runway show has been scrapped in favour of a downgraded ‘presentation’, which Galliano is not expected to attend.
