The upcoming Mahindra XUV900 2023 crossover will be based on the Aero concept that the manufacturer demonstrated at Auto Expo 2016, and will be able to compete with the popular Toyota Fortuner big-blocker.
The Mahindra XUV Aero concept wowed everyone at Auto Expo 2016 with its totally sporty design, something never before seen on Indian crossovers.
The XUV700 was expected to be built in a similar style, but in reality it will turn out to be the new XUV900.
The brand’s recent debutant, the Mahindra XUV700 crossover, has received such high demand that the queue for it has already stretched for several years.
However, the manufacturer does not plan to slow down and will release many new models by 2026.
With their help, the company intends to enter a completely new segment, where it was not previously represented.
One of the promising new products is the Mahindra XUV900 cross-coupe modeled after the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupe.
Mahindra XUV900 will be positioned as one of the main competitors of Toyota Fortuner, but unlike the Japanese model, it will not be built on a frame construction.
In addition, its appearance will be similar to the coupe versions of German brands.
While the car’s exact specs won’t be revealed until closer to launch, it looks like the XUV900 will share the platform and engine options with the XUV700.
So far, the manufacturer and experts have not said anything about the possible price level of the Mahindra XUV900, but we can expect it to be the highest among all existing vehicles of the brand, as it will be the company’s flagship.
According to preliminary data, the parkette will debut by the end of 2023 and before the end of this year, test specimens of the crossover could hit the roads.
Indian company Mahindra has registered a number of names with prefix XUV, most likely for use in the names of its new models or renaming existing cars.
Not so long ago, we learned that the next generation XUV500 will be named XUV700 and will be positioned in the model lineup above its predecessor.
One of the most interesting names the brand has registered is the XUV900.
