In the lion’s den! Roberto Firmino is pictured shopping in Manchester’s Trafford Centre, as he poses for selfies with fans just HOURS after helping Liverpool thrash bitter rivals United 7-0 at Anfield

Roberto Firmino has been snapped shopping in the Trafford Centre in Manchester – the day after helping Liverpool rout rivals Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds thrashed their old foes 7-0 at Anfield on Sunday evening thanks to doubles from forwards Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, topped off by a late goal from Firmino himself.

And on Monday, the Brazilian was pictured out and about with wife Larissa Pereira in his rivals’ home patch – just one mile from United’s Old Trafford stadium.

The 31-year-old, who recently announced he will leave the club this summer at the end of his contract, posed happily for selfies with supporters.

He was also shown browsing in clothing store Primark, wearing a black and white jacket, loose black trousers and green and white trainers.

Elsewhere, Merseyside Police have confirmed a 16-year-old boy has been arrested after he invaded the Anfield pitch during Liverpool’s 7-0 mauling of United.

The teenager ran onto the field after the seventh goal, slipped and fell headlong into left-back Andy Robertson.

Robertson held his ankle in pain after the incident, with manager Jurgen Klopp raging at the supporter as he was taken away by stewards, for risking injury to one of his players.

And now Merseyside Police have confirmed that the fan from Winsford has been arrested on suspicion of encroaching onto a football pitch.

A statement from Merseyside Police read: ‘A 16-year-old boy has been arrested following the Liverpool vs Manchester United game at Anfield yesterday (Sunday 5 March).’

Liverpool have begun an immediate probe into the pitch invader and released a statement saying an investigation is underway to identify and ban the fan – which could lead to a criminal record and lifetime ban if he is found guilty.

It read: ‘Liverpool FC has begun an immediate investigation to identify and ban the individual pitch runner from Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United at Anfield.

‘The offender ran onto the pitch and collided with Liverpool players, risking injury, as they celebrated the seventh goal in front of the Main Stand. There is no excuse for this unacceptable and dangerous behaviour.
