Arsenal are reportedly making three stars available for transfer with Gunners owner Stan Kroenke clearing funds for the Gunners to push through two major deals this summer.
The Gunners kept their title push alive in the most dramatic of circumstances on Saturday. Trailing 2-0 to Bournemouth, the Gunners eventually roared back to win 3-2 thanks to a brilliantly-taken goal in injury time from Reiss Nelson.
It means Arsenal maintain their five point buffer over reigning champions Manchester City at the summit. However, the match also serves as a reminder that the Gunners can ill-afford any slip-ups during the run in.
For that reason, Mikel Arteta will hope falling 2-0 down to the Cherries will help sharpen Arsenal’s focus.
With the Gunners almost sure now of a top-four finish, they will soon achieve their first objective of the season.
And a return to the Champions League, for the first time since the 2015/16 season, will give Arsenal additional transfer funds and added appeal to would-be targets.
Now it seems phase one of their summer transfer plans are about to get underway.
That’s after a report indicated that the Gunners have already made it clear that three senior stars will be allowed to leave this summer.
Indeed, after laying out around £50m on three new signings in January, the Gunners want to try and balance the books first.
And once that is done, they can go about their business of bringing in their summer targets.
Per Football Insider, Arsenal are circulating the names of three players they are looking to sell.
And first out the exit door will be frustrated left-back Kieran Tierney.
Kieran Tierney the first of three set to leave Arsenal
The former Celtic man has lost his place in the side this season to Oleksandr Zinchenko. And with the Scot limited to just four starts in the Premier League this season, Arsenal will allow him to depart.
That chase is being led by Newcastle, though there is interest on the continent too with Juventus among his admirers.
Valued at around £30m, his exit has seemingly been given the green light by Arteta.
The 25-year-old will be followed out the door by another left-back in Nuno Tavares.
The Portuguese star was signed in summer 2021 from Benfica.
And while he did OK when called upon last season, the capture of Zinchenko allowed Arteta to let him depart on loan to Marseille.
The 23-year-old has impressed with the Ligue 1 side, scoring six times in 29 appearances. A permanent move to the French club looks a realistic prospect.
Another loanee will also be allowed to depart Arsenal too with Albert Sambi Lokonga also made up for grabs.
The £17.1m signing from Anderlecht has struggled to impress Arteta since his arrival. As such, he was allowed to move on loan to Crystal Palace in January.
The Gunners will likely need to take a loss though on their investment, despite the player featuring five times so far for the Eagles.
Arsenal want Declan Rice as one of two marquee signings
Despite the Gunners having a net spend of around £330m on players since Arteta’s appointment in December 2019, the club are very much reaping the rewards of his management.
Alongside Edu, the duo are hoping to steer Arsenal towards a first domestic league title in 19 years.
However, that appears to be just the start, with Kroenke reportedly rubberstamping more serious outlays this summer.
And per reports, the American is willing to fund two blockbuster signings to take the Gunners to the next level.
First up, Arsenal plan to push through the signing of Declan Rice.
The England star has made clear his wish to leave the Hammers and take his game to the next level. And it seems Arsenal are in pole position for his signing. That’s West Ham seeking a fee which will likely top the £105.7m Chelsea paid for Enzo Fernandez.
To that end, a report last week revealed Arteta’s brilliant plan to lure Rice ahead of Manchester City and Manchester United this summer.
The Gunners also want to bring in another left-back with Tavares making way.
As such, Football Insider reports that Arteta is keen to sign Fulham’s Antonee Robinson.

The American has been enjoying an excellent season, helping the Cottagers settle comfortably inside the top half.
Also wanted by Manchester City, Robinson is likely to cost well in excess of £40m this summer.
And those two signings alone will likely set Arsenal back around £150m.
However, with the club hoping to go deep into the Champions League next season, Arteta is determined to focus on quality over quantity.
