Erik Ten Hag Blasts Man United Players After “Really Unprofessional Performance” At Liverpool

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag questioned his team’s professionalism after Sunday’s 7-0 defeat at Liverpool.

The game had been a fairly even contest until United took the lead in the 43rd minute.

But United capitulated in the second half and eventually fell to the club’s heaviest loss since 1931.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the game at Anfield, Ten Hag said: “It was a really bad performance and the worst of the year.

“We lost the game at the end of the first half and at the start of the second but you have to keep your head up and we didn’t.

“It’s all about showing discipline and we didn’t, so that’s when you start conceding goals.

“It’s a really unprofessional performance and unnecessary. You have to do your jobs and we didn’t.”

Ten Hag then sent a message to United’s supporters, many of whom left Anfield before the final whistle.

“That was tough and we really have to thank them,” said the Dutchman.

“I can’t blame them for leaving because it was a really bad performance.

“I’m ashamed myself for the fans today.”
