After all, giving birth on your ᴏᴡɴ, in ᴀ ʙᴀᴛʜʀᴏᴏᴍ sᴛᴀʟʟ, no less, is a sʜᴏᴄᴋɪɴɢ and ᴘᴏᴛᴇɴᴛɪᴀʟʟʏ ʟɪғᴇ-ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴛᴇɴɪɴɢ sɪᴛᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ . However, a mom was ᴇxᴛʀᴇᴍᴇʟʏ sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ when she gave birth to her second child in ᴀ ɢᴀs sᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴅᴜʀɪɴɢ ᴀ ʙᴀᴛʜʀᴏᴏᴍ ʙʀᴇᴀᴋ.
Kaitlyn Fullterton was on a drive with her husband, Sergio Mancera, when she felt the urge to use the loo. Although Kaitlyn was ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ, this urge felt like a normal need for the toilet, so she asked her husband to pull over at the nearest petrol station. Kaitlyn said: “We got further along the road and I felt like I needed to start ᴘᴜsʜɪɴɢ, well I thought I needed to go to the ʙᴀᴛʜʀᴏᴏᴍ. I kept on feeling like ᴀ ᴡᴀᴛᴇʀ ᴘʀᴇssᴜʀᴇ…. because whenever I stood up, my ᴡᴀᴛᴇʀ ʙʀᴏᴋᴇ. I needed to use the ʙᴀᴛʜʀᴏᴏᴍ, just ᴀ ǫᴜɪᴄᴋ ᴘᴇᴇ, and then I be out. But a few moments after I closed the door behind , I realized I was in for the surprise of my life when I started giving birth right there over the ɢᴀs sᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴛᴏɪʟᴇᴛ. Gᴏᴅ please ᴅᴏɴ’ᴛ let me have this baby ɪɴ ᴛʜɪs ʀᴇsᴛʀᴏᴏᴍ .
But as Kaitlyn soon learned, that particular prayer would ɴᴏᴛ be answered. At least, ɴᴏᴛ in the way she was hoping. Kaitlyn’s baby had other ideas, and it wasn’t long before the newborn made his entrance into the world. She said : “I was standing up the whole time . I felt the ʜᴇᴀᴅ and then he just came right out and I like grabbed him and I was holding him right here close to me and that’s when someone outside the restroom was like ‘do you need help?’”
Mancera said: “I was on my phone and 10 minutes later, a woman showed up and said, ‘Hey, your wife just gave birth,’ and I was like, ‘What! Really?’ I didn’t initially believe what he was told, running into the toilet with my son to see my wife with my new baby. I couldn’t believe it .” Sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ that he’d suddenly become a father in the few short minutes while his wife was in the ʙᴀᴛʜʀᴏᴏᴍ, Mancera rushed to by by her side. Seconds later, he pulled out his camera. The video footage shot by the first-time dad is now going ᴠɪʀᴀʟ for the incredible moments that it captured. There in the ʙᴀᴛʜʀᴏᴏᴍ stall of a Pilot Gas Station in Beasely, Texas, Kaitlyn was holding their newborn son in her arms.
Pᴀʀᴀᴍᴇᴅɪᴄs arrived shortly after, and Kaitlyn and the baby were taken to Sᴜɢᴀʀ Lᴀɴᴅ ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ where they were both given ᴀ ᴄʟᴇᴀɴ ʙɪʟʟ ᴏғ ʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜ. He would later be named Callihan, and ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀs would record his weight at a healthy 7 lbs., 3 oz. His middle name is Eliseo , that it means Gᴏᴅ is my salvation. Kaitlyn said: “Afterwards I didn’t feel any ᴘᴀɪɴ at all except I still felt the ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴs because I ᴅɪᴅɴ’ᴛ ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀ ᴍʏ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇɴᴛᴀ until I got to the ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ . That’s when it started to ʜᴜʀᴛ. Dᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇɴᴛᴀ ʜᴜʀᴛ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴛʜᴀɴ ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀɪɴɢ the baby. Never in my life would I have expected something like this.”
Husband Mancera added: “How incredible she is. She is such a strong amazing person and I am so blessed to have her as my wife. It just so ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ how easy she made it look, the look on her face when she ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀᴇᴅ our son herself was priceless. I’m so proud of you, you really can do anything baby. It is the most beautiful thing to ɢɪᴠᴇ ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴀʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ. Thank you Gᴏᴅ for always watching over us. This is a ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ sᴛᴏʀʏ to tell my kids one day. Having my wife give birth in a gas station!! Nᴇᴠᴇʀ ɪɴ ᴀ ᴍɪʟʟɪᴏɴs ʏᴇᴀʀs I would had ɴᴏᴛ imagine this.”
