Darwin Nunez opened the scoring for Liverpool in the clash with Real with a heel strike that fans considered worthy of the Puskas award.
Nunez opened the scoring for the Red Brigade in the 4th minute with an unbelievable effort that completely surprised the fans.
The Uruguayan striker chose the perfect moment to catch a pass from Mo Salah to skillfully hit the back of the net.
Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was powerless to stop Nunez’s dangerous finish. And fans demanded that the striker be rewarded for his superb finish.
There won’t be many higher-ranked goals than Nunez’s recent one and supporters announced it on Twitter.
One fan exclaimed: “Nunez with the goal of the season”. Then another declared: “Goal of the season. Give him the Puskas”.
A third fan exclaimed: “This is what we call a striker. Perfect!!!!”. Before the fourth man shouted: “Wow, pass and finish, what a classy goal”.
Nunez was left out of action after picking up an injury after a rough tackle from Newcastle’s Kieran Tripper at the weekend. Fortunately, however, he made it in time.
However, the Red Brigade was turned upside down after Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema each scored a brace for the visitors.
