PSG could reportedly make a move to sign rumoured Tottenham target Marcus Thuram in the summer, with the French club viewing the forward as a potential replacement for Lionel Messi and partner for Kylian Mbappe.
According to L’Equipe, the Ligue 1 giants are looking into the idea of reinventing their attacking line in the transfer window, with Messi yet to sign a new contract with PSG and Neymar’s future also looking very uncertain, with Mbappe the clear focal point of the forward line and the entire club itself.
As a result, PSG are looking for attackers who could complement the 23-year-old superstar, and Thuram has emerged as an option for Christophe Galtier’s side, though the Parisian club face immense competition from all across Europe for the forward, with Tottenham one of the team’s interested.
CalcioMercato recently reported that the north London club are keeping tabs on Thuram, who this weekend announced that he will be leaving Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of this season when his contract expires. And as a result, interest has exploded in the forward, mainly from PSG.
Indeed, the French club signing one of the most in-form forwards in Europe would not be a great shock to many, especially with Mbappe an international teammate of PSG’s new target Thuram. Yet for Tottenham, the lure of the Premier League could help Spurs win this transfer race.
Many of Europe’s best and biggest players are making the move to England given just how much money is circulating around the division. However, whilst Thuram might want a Premier League move, signing for PSG could be an opportunity that is too good to turn down.
THURAM SIGNING FOR PSG FEELS LIKE THE MOST REALISTIC OPTION THIS SUMMER
PSG are set for another rebuild in the summer with the Ligue 1 side keen to overhaul their attacking options to fit Mbappe’s needs, and as a result, there’s a strong chance that Thuram will make the move to Paris even with strong interest from big Premier League sides such as Tottenham.
As we know, the chance to replace Messi and star alongside Mbappe will be something many players will jump at the chance to take, and for Thuram, the Frenchman could be a perfect fit for PSG after his career-best season in Germany with Gladbach.
