While the Chicago Bulls are a team that has often been linked to Russell Westbrook, if he ever gets bought out by the Utah Jazz, it is by no means a certainty that the former MVP will head to the Windy City. In fact, if Westbrook signs with another team, the Bulls have two very intriguing fallback options: Patrick Beverley and John Wall.
Westbrook’s arrival is not a guarantee
Aside from Bulls coach Billy Donovan, another Bull who has gone to bat for the often-maligned Westbrook is Zach LaVine. The high-leaping wingman said they would certainly welcome Westbrook to their fold if he gets bought out and decides to sign with Chicago.
“Russ is a future Hall of Famer, man. I think you can only respect what he’s done in this league. If he so happens to come on the team, we welcome him with open arms,” said LaVine.
At this point, though, it remains to be seen if that scenario will come to fruition. The Bulls have plenty of competition for Westbrook’s services, with the Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, and the Los Angeles Clippers all gunning for the mercurial guard.
Back-up plan
Wall, another former All-Star, could provide the Bulls some stability and more experience at the point guard position currently being manned by sophomore point guard Ayo Dosunmu. The big caveat here is health, as Wall has missed substantial time with the Clippers before he got traded and then released by the Houston Rockets.

Beverley is another player that could be on the Bulls’ radar if things don’t work out for Westbrook. A lockdown defender, Beverley could provide the Bulls with some much-needed perimeter defense and help space the floor with his three-point shooting.
More than anything, he would provide the Bulls with tenacity and toughness that have been lacking from the team all season long.
