Since the Phoenix Suns were successful in acquiring Kevin Durant through trade, supporters have been on cloud nine. The team and its supporters needed a major boost after the last season ended in an ugly manner, and they got it with this enormous transfer.
Durant isn’t ready just yet to play, but he has been hard at work at practice and should be able to make his debut not long after the All-Star break. He has made the Suns one of the favorites for the title and fans are eagerly waiting to see him in action.
For now, though, they’ll have to make do with seeing him on the bench and they welcomed him to Phoenix with a standing ovation.
He is going to get a lot of love from a fanbase that is starving for a championship and KD might just deliver one this season. Both he and the fans would have been delighted with what they saw on the court as well, as the Suns beat the Sacramento Kings 120-109. Devin Booker scored 32 points, Deandre Ayton had 29 points to go with 11 rebounds and Chris Paul finished with 17 points to go along with 19 assists in this impressive win. Adding Durant to this collection of talent is going to make them almost unstoppable on offense.
Devin Booker Feels The Suns Have Everything In Place To Win The Title
Last season was supposed to be the crowning moment for the Suns, but it ended in bitter disappointment. They had the best record in the league at 64-18, only to get blown out at home in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals by the Dallas Mavericks.
A repeat of that seems rather unlikely now, with Durant in the mix. With him now in tow, they are mounting a serious assault at that elusive title and Booker feels everything is in place now to win it all. If the Suns can stay healthy, they’ll fancy their chances against anybody in the NBA.
