Fernando Torres was once one of the most feared attackers in football.
Torres scored 81 goals for Liverpool, where he was at the peak of his powers
He played alongside some of the best too, and has now given his answers on some of the sport’s biggest questions.
In a game of ‘This or that’ for the Champions League’s TikTok account, the now-retired Spaniard was tasked with kicking a ball towards his preferred answers to a series of questions.
The first saw him weigh in on the age-old Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate, sharing the pitch with both of them during his career, and Torres picked Messi.
Two legends of the game were soon swapped for two of football’s current superstars in Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, and Torres opted for the former.
The ex-striker stuck to his Liverpool allegiances as he said Luis Suarez was better than Bayern Munich hotshot Robert Lewandowski.
He was also given two questions directly related to Liverpool and Chelsea, Torres saying he preffers Anfield over Stamford Bridge.
Torres helped Chelsea to Champions League glory in the 2011/12 season
He won the Champions League during his time at Chelsea alongside Frank Lampard, but Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was his preferred choice of the two England midfielders who could never played together.
Torres played under both Rafa Benitez and Jose Mourinho, with the former being picked over the three-time Premier League winner.
But he displayed his love for Liverpool once again
For the final question, the now 38-year-old was put up against his former Spain teammate David Villa.
Torres remained humble though and didn’t pick himself, with Villa taking the title between the two.
Some bold calls were made by the decorated Spaniard, who made 758 senior appearances across five different clubs.
Out of all of those though, Liverpool very much have a safe and secure spot in his heart, cementing his status as a fan favourite.
