Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford on the club’s official website.
Klopp has been hugely impressed by how well Rashford has done for Manchester United so far this season.
The Liverpool manager made the comments about the England international forward while analysing his own team’s performances this campaign.
Klopp believes that the Liverpool players need to start picking themselves up, just as the £225,000-a-week Rashford has.
LIVERPOOL MANAGER JURGEN KLOPP ON MANCHESTER UNITED FORWARD MARCUS RASHFORD
Klopp said: “One of the best examples is probably Marcus Rashford. The season he had last year and the season he is having this year, I’m not sure he can explain it.
“Of course, Erik ten Hag coming in, a new voice, a different approach, all of these things [can make a difference]. It’s not like Marcus didn’t want to deliver last year, I’m pretty sure about that.
“But now he is flying, and that’s how it goes. You have to use the time in between these two extremes, you have to work through it and fight through it. Self-pity is not allowed in these moments. The only one person you can change it is yourself.”
GOOD EXAMPLE
In our view, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is a very good example for Liverpool players to take inspiration from.
Okay, we know that Liverpool and United are bitter rivals, but everyone has to admire how Rashford has turned around his fortunes.
The 25-year-old did not have the best of times for the past two or so seasons, but this campaign, the England international has been superb.
