Luffy may not be the strongest fictional character, but he can certainly beat a fair few from other franchises.
Anime fans love One Piece because of its emotional and detailed story, and it does a great job of balancing action, drama, and comedy. Since the beginning, the story has focused on Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who wishes to become the next Pirate King. He is known for being rather dumb, but he is a kind soul who will do anything for his friends.
Luffy ate a Devil Fruit when he was a child, and it gave his body the properties of rubber. He can stretch any part of his body, which allows him to unleash powerful, and at times, rapid attacks. Now that he has awakened his Devil Fruit, he can turn other things into rubber as well. He has also mastered all three forms of Haki. Luffy may not be the strongest fictional character, but he can certainly beat a fair few from other franchises.
10. Luffy’s Body Makes Him Immune To Raiden’s Lightning
Mortal Kombat
Very few video game franchises are as popular as Mortal Kombat, and after two deacdes, Raiden is still one of the best characters. He is the God of Thunder, and he protects Earthrealm by recruiting its mightiest warriors.
Raiden can fire lightning strikes, and zap his opponents if they are in melee range. This lightning can be fatal to a normal human, but thanks to his rubber body, Luffy is immune to Raiden’s greatest weapon. Luffy’s Observation Haki can handle Raiden’s teleportation, and Haki-infused attacks should be enough to injure him.
9. Batman’s Body Could Not Withstand Luffy’s Punches
DC Comics
Batman has been one of DC Comics’ most popular superheroes for decades, and his iconic batsuit is known throughout the world. The suit gives him a bit of protection, and his utility belt has a number of helpful gadgets.
Batman possesses a genius-level intellect, and he is a master martial artist who excels in hand-to-hand combat. He may be in peak physical condition, but Batman is still an ordinary human, and his body would be crushed by one of Luffy’s Haki-infused Gear 3rd attacks. A Gum-Gum Gatling attack would pulverize Batman’s body as well.
8. Cyclops’ Greatest Weapon Can Be Overcome With Observation Haki
Marvel Comics
The X-Men are a mainstay of Marvel Comics, and Cyclops is one of the group’s more prominent members. He is a good hand-to-hand fighter, and his tactical skills are impressive, but his eyes are his greatest weapon because they fire optic blasts.
For the most part, these energy blasts travel in straight lines, which is beneficial for Luffy because it means that he should be able to dodge them with his Observation Haki. If he can avoid the blasts, Luffy’s enhanced punches should knock Cyclops out relatively quickly.
7. Kakashi Does Not Stand A Chance Without A Sharingan
Naruto
Naruto is filled with skilled ninja, but only a few would be able to defeat Kakashi Hatake. His chakra reserves may be relatively low, but Kakashi has a tactical mind and a variety of justu at his disposal. When he possessed the Sharingan, he was able to read his enemy’s movements and copy their techniques.
Without the Sharingan, Kakashi does not stand a chance against Luffy, especially if he uses Gear 2nd. While in this form, Luffy’s attacks and movements would be way too fast to keep up with. Kakashi also relies on his Chidori to end fights, but Luffy’s body would negate the lightning-style ninjutsu.
6. Nathan Drake May Be Lucky, But He’s An Ordinary Human
Uncharted
Uncharted was once one of PlayStation’s flagship series, which is understandable since Nathan Drake is basically a modern-day version of Indiana Jones. Nate has gone up against warmongers, mercenaries, and supernatural beings, and he has survived every encounter.
He knows how to use his fists, and he can make do with any type of firearm. His greatest attribute is his luck, but even that cannot help him against Luffy’s punching barrage. His punches are nowhere near superhuman, and any bullets he uses would bounce off Luffy’s body. There is a good chance that Luffy can take him out with one punch.
5. To Luffy, Cole MacGrath Is Just A Very Durable Human
Infamous
The Infamous franchise managed to carve out a decent fanbase, and most of them are eagerly waiting for a remake of the first two games. They centered around Cole MacGrath, a former bike messenger who gained electrokinesis after a violent explosion.
With this power, Cole could absorb electricity and use it as a weapon, which would be useless against Luffy’s body. Cole also gained superhuman physical abilities, which means that he and Luffy may be equal in that regard. Unfortunately, Luffy gets the edge because his advanced Conqueror’s Haki further enhances his strength.
4. Geralt’s Body Would Be Smashed By Gear 3rd
The Witcher
The Witcher has had its issues, but it is still a popular show, and it has done a decent job of bringing Geralt of Rivia to life. As a Witcher, Geralt can use magic, and he is a fine swordsman who possesses enhanced senses and physical capabilities.
That being said, his body can only take so much damage. Gear 3rd would crush his body, and Luffy’s speed in Gear 4th would be too much for him to handle. Thanks to his awakened Devil Fruit, Luffy can just turn Geralt’s swords and magic into rubber.
3. Denki Kaminari’s Quirk Would Be Useless
My Hero Academia
In order to become a Pro Hero in My Hero Academia, teenagers must attend a special school, and Denki Kaminari is part of Class 1-A. Thanks to the Electrification Quirk, he can generate electricity and emit it over a distance, but he can short-circuit his own brain if the voltage gets too high.
This Quirk can easily take out enemies with normal bodies, but Luffy’s body makes this power completely useless. A single Haki-infused punch would decimate Kaminari, and there is a good chance that he will short-circuit while trying to zap Luffy.
2. Iron Man’s Suit Would Not Offer Much Protection
MCU
If it were not for Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, there is a good chance that the Marvel Cinematic Universe would not exist. Of all the heroes, Iron Man had the best character arc, and he sacrificed himself in order to save the universe.
His armored suit provides him with a great deal of protection, but even his suit cannot withstand constant bombardment from Luffy’s Haki attacks. Iron Man’s missiles and energy blasts would be ineffective as well since Luffy can dodge them with Observation Haki or turn them into rubber with his awakening.
1. John Wicks’ Skills Would Be Of Very Little Use
John Wick
Keanu Reeves’ career saw a resurgence in 2014 with the release of John Wick, where he played the titular character. As a child, John was taken in by the Russian mafia, where he was trained to become an assassin. He went on to become one of the deadliest people on the planet.
He is a master of hand-to-hand combat and gunplay, and he can take on a small army of armed men singlehandedly without much effort. He is deadly with a blade as well. Unfortunately, his bullets won’t pierce Luffy, especially if he uses Armament Haki. John can take a few hits, but Luffy’s attacks would overwhelm him pretty quickly.
