Jack Grealish has told Oleksandr Zinchenko on Instagram ‘you deserve everything’ after Manchester City’s 1-0 FA Cup win over Arsenal on Friday night.
The Arsenal left-back is a popular player in the Emirates dressing room and it was the same when he was at the Etihad.
Whilst Mikel Arteta didn’t start Zinchenko against his former side, the 26-year-old did come off the bench, but he was able to change the outcome of the match.
During the dying minutes of the game and after the full-time whistle, Zinchenko was clearly annoyed and frustrated at the result, which just goes to show how every single game counts for him.
But, from Arsenal’s perspective, if they are being honest, they would rather lose against Pep Guardiola’s side in the FA Cup, rather than in the Premier League.
Nonetheless, when Zinchenko took to his IG after coming up against his former side, Jack Grealish, who provided the assist for Nathan Ake’s goal, posted the following message in the comments section
“My brother,” said the £100 million player, added with a heart emoji. “No matter what, you deserve everything my guy.”
ZINCHENKO STARTS NEXT MONTH
There’s no doubt that Mikel Arteta played a weaker team than Guardiola, with the likes of William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli and Zinchenko not starting.
But, one thing is for sure, all three will be starting when the two meet again in the Premier League on February 15.
From Saliba against Erling Haaland to Thomas Partey against Rodri, there will be many key battles out on that pitch.
But someone like Zinchenko might just be the most important because of the control he provides from left-back and how he just wanders from one side of the pitch to the other dictating the tempo of the match.
